Friday june 15 @ noon. event 25 NL hold em (3 day event) $2,000 buy in.
Saturday June 16 @ noon. event 27 NL hold em (3 day event) $1,500 buy in.
Sunday June 17 @ 5:00PM event 29 RAZZ. (2 day event) $1,500 buy in.
Wednsday June 20 @ 5PM event 34 LHE (3 day event) $3,000 buy-in.
I know some of them overlap but I plan on buying in to the bolded events ahead of time and the others are in case I bust out and I might try in buy into out there, hopefully they don't sell out.
It sucks that the RAZZ event and the first event I want to enter overlap. I may actually buy into both anyway because if I bust out of event 25 early I could play it and if I am still in event 25 by the time event 29 starts I should end up being a pretty happy camper money wise and would be okay with that. I also have a list of tournies I could end up playing but these are most likely the ones I will be scheduling my trip around.
I would also like to thank Rannie for scheduling his wedding on June 9th, during the tournament I wanted to play the most of all, the $2500 HORSE event. Thank you dipshit and I hope you live happily ever after
ARGHHHHH!!!!! Lets see. 5 tourneys, two cahes and the cashes i have made are exactly enough to cover al 5 buy-ins. Annoying to say the least. last night i made 10th out of 180. 9th place is the final table. today 12th. its getting annoying. I think I am going to take the night off, go to the bar, but wait! free bar tourney.. i am going to blow off steam from playing pokre by you guessed it! playing more poker! woo hoo..
also i am pretty sure i am getting that new car next week! wooooot!!! oh well thats it. I am just bored as shit and though i'd post. read no further if you don't like whining.
bad beat #1. I am lucky my chat wasn't banned for this one.
basically I am on the button with 10 10 late in a mtt (in the money) and there are 4 limpers.. I raise to about 7 times the blinds, why? For one i like my pocket pairs heads up and there have been a lot of limpers at my table only to see a bettor and the bettor winning the pot uncontested. it works but the guy who calls is in first position. the fact that he can call here and not re-raise makes me think. well the flop comes 1073 two spades. GREAT! I hit my set and lets hope this guy isn't gonna go somwhere on a spade draw(foreshadowing?). well he bets and i check my notes and notice he has a litte cb i put on him. This means that if he raises pre-flop he is very likley to bet on hte flop regardless of what is on it based on how i have watched himplay up to that point. Me having the current nuts raise about 5 times his bet trying to get him out right away OR crack a set he could've made or possibly A 10. well he calls. the turn. the dreaded deuce! oh wow i have this guy dominated. he checks. i bet out all-in (putting him all in and leaving me with about 4,000 chips) he calls and flips over aj of spades! this guy has committed to drawing this whole pot out, with me betting THE SHIT out of it on a spade draw!?!?! WHAT THE FUCK! well guess what the river brings. a spade and donkey boy goes on to win the pot and assume 2nd in chips (i was chip leader at this point with two tables to go) WHAT A FUCKING MORON! I went on to say bad things about the young child i had assumed was his in his avatar as well as other shit and am lucky to still have chat. I couldn't manage to recover from losing this hand and went out soon after when my ak was buckled when a guy with aq hits two pair on me. talk about a suckout. um. yeha, just talking about that hand again has put me on tilt and im not even playing poker right now. im done whining now. i shoulda won that pot and i shoulda won that tourney but whatever. have a nice day.
So nothing out of the ordinary right now just the same old shit, different day.
lets see... I have final tabled the last 3 tourneys I have played but for little cash. one 9th one 5th and one 7th. I am actually somewhat new to these multi table tournaments and am becoming more and more happy with the results and my ability to go deep in them every day. It seems that if I am in the proper mindset that nothing can stop me from gong deep in these. Also the final table i made last night also had a member of +1 at the table (hailme).. HELL YEAH!
He finished ahead of me when I flopped A106 and was holding aj. There was about 16k in the pot and i had 20k left in my stack. I decide to push thinking that a) I KNOW he(not my 1 guy but some other guy) has a weak ace and if he does call will be a dog and b) that if he folds i just padded my stack up to around 36k. well he calls, I have him covered by about 100 chips and he shows a6! A6! what more could i ask for? well the turn is a blank and the river cooled me with a 6 and i have about 100 chips left. It just sucks because i feel that i played good until the bitter end and he got me. I led the tourney from near the halfway point and this donkey got a hold of me. oh well, little you can do but put your money in with the best hand, 7th it will be. Next hand pokerstars did the overkill thing when i push my last 100 or so in with 43 off and the other guy completes is bullets to quads vs my flopped wheel draw. gotta love yelling DEUCE! at the final table.
Playing live tourneys is new to me. I have played over 100 billion FREE bar tournaments with prizes from the bars but that is usually just to cool down from a day of bad beats or for fun and relaxation. Yestrday was different. At my dealing school (poker dealer school) they have decided to resume thier 35 re-buys tuornament. its fun and drew a small crowd for its first week, 9 people. great. I was cruisin along picking up some pots, doubled up twice and after the re-buy period (i didn't re-buy) caught kings in the hole, two limpers at 100/200 blinds i bump it to 1000 trying to get it heads up and get one caller. My teachers daughter. Flop a king and she pushes all in in front of me. i call and double thrugh. I finished her with aces a few hands later. That felt good.
One hand got to me and i don't know how my decision was. I have kq of clubs in middle position with nobody limping in but guy in the seat behind me looks like he may be comin so i limp. he folds, it folds around to the button who min raises... WTF? small blind lets it go and me and the big blind call (blinds are at the opening level still of 25/50). flop is q74 I now have top pair with good kicker but have that fricken min raise to act be-hind me. The pot is at about 300 so i bet 250 at it to see what min bet guys does. He raises to 500. now you start with 1500 in chips, i am not in the re-buy mood (neither was my wallet) but i knew he wasn't either. I have already played one pot and lost leaving me with about 1000 chips whats in the middle. Did he min raise before the flop with a big hand? does he have aq? aa? kk? WTF is happening? my thoughts are that my best moves are to push or fold. why? my stack can't take much more. I look at the clock and blinds go up in 4 minutes and here i am playing a pot that could make me or break me. GREAT. Well first i asked him why he min raised and he just tried to shrug it off like i didn't say anything. I now think either he's real full of shit or has a real big hand. I look him over. college kid, probly a little push happy, but somehting tells me he has a big hand. I muck. I don't know if i was right but I am happy with my decision. Live to fight another day. The more I tihnk about it and after playing for him a while longer i am putting him on ak here. still don't know though. I go on to finish 4th (1st and 2nd pay) It was fun and there will probobly be double the players next week.
First off I already ttyped out my entry for the day and MySpace had to gay it up and say "sorry we sux at teh internet" and not post it. GAY. anyway to my day.
I paddled a canoe to the middle of a lake today. unexpected, odd, yet cool. Also I made small money in that tourney yesterday.
The World Series of Poker. I took a shot at getting there yesterday for the first time. Basically I saw a RAZZ tournament (RAZZ is a variation of seven card stud where the 5 lowest cars wins i.e. a2345 is the best hand and beats a2346) on ftp (full tilt) and decided to give it a try. Basically it was a crap shoot only paying ONE spot out of 77 people but i love RAZZ so much i figured it wsa worth it. I played well and got knocked out in 24 of 77. the final hand was a heartbreaker as i had a2346 (the second best hand possible) on the 5th card and the other guy caught a 5 on 7th street to give him a wheel and instead of crippling him and bringing me to chip leader (we both had very deep stacks) knocked me out on 24th. either way my first WSOP sattelite was cool and I will definetly be trying again.
Well this is my first entry and I doubt that I will ever fill out my blog with any kind of regularity. First off a little about me. My name is Danny and i am 23 from Lakewood Colorado (Denver). At the moment I am living off of poker winnings and dealing poker. Most of my blog entries (if not all of them) will be poker related so if you aren't interested in poker read no further.
I started my day by smopking a cigarette and drinking some tea. It is rediculously hot lately. Well i have been playing mostly cash games lately and decided I would playa tourney today. Nothing special just a 5$ buy in tournament on full tilt with 311 entries and am doing okay in that tourney now playing solid abc poker and trying to not bust out. Basically I have learned that I know what I am doing in poker enough to almost always know the correct decision but need to work on doing it as i usually end up being correct and making the wrong play anyway. this isn't crippling my play as I am very confident that I am better than 90% of the players i do play online and am able to make up for my mistakes rather easily with correct play down the road but I know it wont be as easy a i begin to move up in stakes.
well thats it for now and i will try and let anyone who feels like reading this know how may tourney went.
